How do i know i get the right NJ general contractor?
Getting a NJ general contractor or remodeling contractor is consider to be easy all we have to do is go to the phone book, but the experience honest NJ general contractor is more difficult. When choosing NJ general contractors or any other construction contractors ask your friends if they or any one you know had work done by the NJ general contractors or building contractors you considering. Always check with 2 or 3 costumers of the NJ general contractor. Check with NJ division of consumer affairs. to be sure there aren't complains against the NJ general contractor or any other contractors of your choice and any complains where handle satisfactory for the costumer. Remember complains mean no quality work. Why do i need a license NJ general contractor?
To apply for the require building construction permits that are required by law regardless of the size of the job. Having a handyman or building contractor professionals doing work with out the require building permit carry heavy fines by the local building code enforcement. Because the contractors or handyman fail to secure a building permit don't mean you wouldn't be liable and issue heavy fines. There're documented cases were homeowner insurance didn't pay because the work was done without the required building permit. Out of state or NJ general contractors are require to have a NJ licence to operate in NJ as a general contractor, license by any other state doesn't mean a NJ general contractor or any other NJ home improving construction trade contractor. The law require every NJ general contractor and construction trade professionals to be registered with state of NJ and NJ division of consumer affairs to protect the consumer (homeowners and home buyers.) Does a licence NJ general contractor mean quality work?
No. It mean the contractor is licence to perform they duties and have some form of insurance, doesn't mean full coverage or quality work. Quality over two decades in bath and kitchen remodeling, roof, decks, patios, vinyl siding and general contractor services to mention few. Joe success is due to costumer referral and repeated satisfied clients not by advertising. We don't say contractors shouldn't advertise, but Joe believe if general contractors or any other construction professionals have to do mass advertising an offer discounts, coupons as an incentive to be hire, could be an issue with quality. Remember that's a coupon not quality work. Satisfied costumers are our advertisers of integrity and quality work. Any coupons or discounts a contractor offer to be hired, you can be sure it will be made up by sacrificing quality workmanship and materials to make up the amount discounted. Joe believe if cuts have to be made by sacrificing quality and materials to make up the discounts is better not doing the project this way we know the costumer won't be disappointed by us. Repeated clients account for more than half of our business and we want to keep it this way, satisfied clients. Why does the NJ general contractors require insurance?
It's the law. When you hire a NJ general contractor, handyman or any other construction trade professional with out insurance you'll be held liable for medical bills and compensation if there's an accident and any worker get hurt. Always ask the NJ general contractor for proof of insurance by requesting a certificate of insurance (not copy of the policy) before issuing any checks. When the handyman, NJ general contractors or any other construction trade contractors provide the certificate of insurance issue the check on who's name appears as the insured. By issuing the check in any other contractor name you acknowledge the NJ general contractor or building contractors are uninsured, therefore any think goes wrong is your responsibility. Because you fail to request and take the above precautions doesn't mean you'll not be liable for property lost or medical bills and compensation if there's a reckless or unintentional accident. Remember the construction profession is one of the most hazard. Why experienced NJ general contractors?
Experienced NJ general contractor is some one who knows the construction building codes well. Joe extensive NJ general contractor experience, he can coordinate all sub contractors and supervise them to avoid delays. Remember delays usually translate in additional cost. A general contractor will apply and secure all required building permits. Any contractors ask the owner to sign any part or the entire building permit form are probably unlicensed contractors. By signing part or the entire form the contractors have no liability for the work. Lot's of general contractors say they can do home repair and remodeling, but what really matters is getting it done right with quality from start to finish.
